Tamera-Leigh was born in Edmonton, Alberta. She is a Cree First Nations woman from Paul First Nation, Alberta located in Treaty 6. Tamera-Leigh grew up and currently resides in Alexander First Nation, Alberta. She graduated from Kipohtakaw Education Centre, where she was awarded Valedictorian for the class of 2016-2017. After graduating, Tamera-Leigh was accepted to the University of Alberta. She was enrolled into the Transition Year Program in the Faculty of Arts. However, after ending an abusive relationship, she withdrew to focus on her wellbeing.

 Tamera-Leigh is currently in her 5th year working alongside those battling addictions and mental health. She was employed at Footprints Healing Centre in Alexander First Nation, where she worked with clients ages 18-65 from August 2018 and resigned in August 2020. She worked with Nightwind Treatment Centre in Legal, where she worked with youth ages 12-22 from June 2021 and resigned in June 2022. She is currently working with Alta Care Resources in Edmonton, where she works with youth ages 8-18 in a group home setting. Tamera-Leigh has always been passionate about helping those dealing with addictions. She continues to dedicate her time to inspire the youth she works with to follow their goals and dreams. Tamera-Leigh is currently accepted into NECHI INSTITUTE, where she will be enrolled into The Indigenous Addictions Services Diploma Program in the fall of 2022. 

Tamera-Leigh enjoys traveling and going on adventures. She also lived in Jasper, Alberta and Tofino B.C. from August 2020 -  May 2021. She was a housekeeper and lived in staff accommodations during the COVID lockdown. 

During her spare time, she enjoys hiking, landscape photography, and pole dancing. Tamera Leigh is happy to be participating in the MCGP Beauty Pageant because it gives her a chance to grow and inspire the youth she works with.
